Your brain is the control centre for your body\u2019s signaling system monitoring and controlling every cell in your body. Electrical and chemical signals go back and forth between your brain and body hundreds of times a second.\u00a0<\/p><p>These signals can \u201cshort circuit\u201d due to stress from infection, trauma, emotions, toxins, viruses etc. Symptoms arise when the body\u2019s automatic signaling system is disrupted. Muscle testing is used to find these short circuits, testing the integrity of the motor-sensory signalling between the brain and the body.<\/p><p>Reflexes on the body are contacted while applying gentle pressure to a strong muscle. If an organ, muscle, joint or other body system is short circuited, the strong muscle will not hold when the associated reflex is touched. This allows practitioners to get feedback directly from the brain to find out why your body isn\u2019t working the way it should. Once these signal breakdowns are found, they can be corrected by making the brain aware of them through a process known as \u201cintegration\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>This begins a cascade of neurological events which results in the restoration of normal signaling.<\/p><p>I first came across NIS approximately 29 years ago when looking to help two of my children who were struggling to learn at school with dyslexia and Irlen\u2019s syndrome.\u00a0 Then after having a stroke I suffered from a number of side effects where there didn\u2019t seem to be a diagnosis or solution.
