Hi, I am Bernadette Masefield practitioner and owner of the NeuroFix Clinic in Tauranga, specialising in the revolutionary Neurological Integration System (NIS), which is a method of restoring communication between the brain and body. NIS uses muscle testing to find and correct “short circuits” between the brain and body. The brain is the key to unlocking many of the issues affecting one’s life, whether it be neurological, physiological, emotional or pathological. Your brain is the control centre for your body’s signaling system monitoring and controlling every cell in your body. Electrical and chemical signals go back and forth between your brain and body hundreds of times a second. These signals can “short circuit” due to stress from infection, trauma, emotions, toxins, viruses etc. Symptoms arise when the body’s automatic signaling system is disrupted. Muscle testing is used to find these short circuits, testing the integrity of the motor-sensory signalling between the brain and the body.Reflexes on the body are contacted while applying gentle pressure to a strong muscle. If an organ, muscle, joint or other body system is short circuited, the strong muscle will not hold when the associated reflex is touched. This allows practitioners to get feedback directly from the brain to find out why your body isn’t working the way it should. Once these signal breakdowns are found, they can be corrected by making the brain aware of them through a process known as “integration”. This begins a cascade of neurological events which results in the restoration of normal signaling.I first came across NIS approximately 29 years ago when looking to help two of my children who were struggling to learn at school with dyslexia and Irlen’s syndrome. Then after having a stroke I suffered from a number of side effects where there didn’t seem to be a diagnosis or solution. I visited Dr Phillips, founder of Neurological Integrated Systems (NIS) and after receiving one NIS treatment I couldn’t believe that most of the side effects had disappeared. At the time, I was working as a registered nurse, due to the treatment I received and the benefits I felt, I decided to alter my career path and train as a practitioner. Having always been passionate about health and wellbeing, NIS is enabling me to help others overcome the challenges they are experiencing and reclaim their health and vitality.
